Abstract:

Hiring employees in 2022 has shaped up to be a continuation of 2021’s “Great Resignation” and challenges still persist on finding the right candidate for your organization. Labtopia Staffing hears concerns from clients about staff shortages, trouble finding qualified candidates and employee retention. We will discuss what we are hearing from candidates, why they are leaving their current employers and what they are seeking in a new position.  We will open this up to discussion with participants on what has worked (or not worked) to attract new talent to your organization and ways to retain those that are important to your business.

Jumpstart Your Lab Training Program!

Currently Scheduled: 10/11/2022 - 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM
Room: Rose

Main Author
Gretchen McAuliffe - Labtopia

Abstract Number: 238
Abstract:

Development and maintenance of laboratory training programs can be a challenging task. Though laboratory management generally understands the necessity for such programs, training is often not consistent nor sufficiently comprehensive, with the result that it is frequently cited as a deficiency in laboratory audits.

A well-defined and documented laboratory technician training program is essential, with the overarching goals being to cultivate competent and well-trained employees, and to establish a role-based training matrix so that supervisors can ensure employees develop the skills necessary to perform their assigned tasks.

We will discuss how to develop this essential blueprint for a laboratory training program, then move to how to maintain the program once established. We will also address the value of engaging with a consulting partner that can provide the momentum necessary to ensure project completion, as well as additional tools that will jumpstart your lab's training program.

Don't forget to register early. We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
