Measurement Uncertainty Training

Course Overview:

Our Measurement Uncertainty Training course is perfect for calibration personnel and provides great knowledge for testing laboratories. This 2 day course covers the basic understanding of uncertainty as it applies to calibration, specifically geared towards understanding the Uncertainty Budget that is a required parameter in an ISO 17025:2017 Scope of Accreditation. Students will learn to understand and prepare a basic sample uncertainty budget through lecture and exercises. Students will learn to understand and prepare a basic sample uncertainty budget through lecture and exercises. A capstone exercise is included for the student to be able to work out an uncertainty budget by hand using provided information and a pre-prepared template then compared to an already validated example.

Introduction to the concepts of what uncertainties are and why they are important Types of Uncertainties Terminology Basic statistical concepts required such as distributions, degrees of freedom, confidence levels, etc How to read manufacturer's uncertainties	In-depth hands on practice on the development of Measurement Uncertainty Budgets as they apply to calibration Step by step instructions for creating an uncertainty budget for Dimensional, Mechanical, and Electrical parameters  Detailed understanding of ILAC and GUM and how to estimate them Welch-Satterthwaite formula

Who Should Attend?

This course was designed for those that have little to no exposure to Measurement Uncertainty. It is specifically geared toward generating CMC uncertainty budgets that are required for each parameter in an ISO 17025:2017 Scope of Accreditation as well as those required for specific measurement equipment calibration.
